Today I have for you a fun, casual and fitness themed downtown RVA engagement session!
These two didn’t want typical or traditional – there’s nothing wrong with that if that’s what feels right for you! – for their photo shoot because it didn’t feel like them. They wanted to be able to be themselves and look like they look day to day, nothing fancy or glamorous. Putting aside the pressure of posing and finding perfect outfits, they were better able to let their love shine, relax and just have fun with it. Which is always my end goal, it just leads to better photographs. And bonus – I always love when couples bring along their furry friends. Always a plus! 🙂
I met Farah at work and we instantly connected. She’s just a fun and easy person to be around. She gave me one of the most feel good compliments I can remember – that she knew from the moment we met that one day she would get a good excuse to have me take her photos, and how happy she was that day was finally here. I am SO happy I got to take her photos! These two are the best, this was a breeze of a photo shoot with two amazing people.
We started in a spot where you can partially see the Main Street Station clock tower, an iconic spot in Richmond. Not always easy to get the angle right if you’re not standing on the interstate, which is obviously way too dangerous, but honestly would look amazing! But this little street worked out wonderfully.
Then we took a little walk past the canal to one of my favorite spots. Right on the other side of the city is an awesome mix of urban and nature with the canal, the train bridge and overpasses.
Fitness is a big part of their relationship, it’s one thing that brought them together. So for part two of the shoot, they had to break out the cute workout gear. And the doggies! 🙂
