My 1st Mother’s Day. Such a weird and wonderful thing to say.

Only 8 months in and being this little boy’s mommy is the absolute best thing in the world. You just don’t know until you know. The first few months of not knowing if and how we could ever do it were completely worth every second of fear and uncertainty. I am lucky to have such a wonderful mother and I hope to become one as well.

What I wanted most for Mother’s Day was to go out and get some good shots of me with the little guy. So glad that my husband captured these photos for us. I’m training him well to get the shots I want! Also making an effort not to be the mom who never gets in front of the camera. Something I’m always encouraging Mother’s to do.

So below is a bunch of photos of the two of us, this post is mainly for me, but take a look if you don’t mind seeing too much of my face (and his adorableness of course!) in one post! 😉

Harrison had been fighting a cold all weekend which had me worried, it’s so hard to know when it’s not something to be concerned about… So he wasn’t feeling the best in these photos. His fever finally broke but he was looking pretty tired from coughing on and off all night, and so was I!

This usually gets some big smiles, but he was just taking it easy. He loves looking around at new places and taking it all in.

PSA for the moms – I can’t stress enough how much you need to “get over it” and get in front of the camera with your kids. I still feel pretty self conscious after having a baby. It’s normal of course how much your body changes but it can be tough. Nothing fits right anymore and it gets frustrating and sad. But you never look more beautiful than when you are looking at your baby with love in your eyes. Remember that!

My husband is also my stand-in for test shots, so I try and grab a few cute ones when he’s not paying attention 🙂

Below, this is my “searching for the light” face. As you can see, I take it very seriously apparently. And Harrison’s, “Daddy, what are we doing?” face. I didn’t know he took this one.

     Harrison and his body guard!

Happy Mother’s day to all of the moms out there, you are all so SO amazing!

Side Note: This was one day after I got my hair done for the FIRST time in almost a year! Having a baby will do that to you… so I wanted to give a shout out to Lydia at Salon Del Sol, she’s the best!!!
