March 17th – March 23th is Project Life 365 week 12! Starting with Saint Patrick’s Day and ending with some music.
This is a very diverse looking board. I’m only 3 months in, but I’m already planning a strategy for next year’s photo a day project! I would like to have a consistency in color, tone, something… specific to each month so that when I put them all together it will be visually pleasing before you even look at each individual image. I wish I could start doing it now! But I’ll be patient 🙂 I also think I might not limit myself to using my iphone. It is an interesting exercise for the year, but some days I am just dying to break out my Nikon! Plus Instagram is such good exposure. I’m learning a lot with this project already. Moving on…
Day 76: #cheers. Fitting for Saint Patty’s! Richmond has a huge block party every year that we went to check out. Might be the last one for us, it’s sad, we’re starting to feel like the “old people” there, lol. But we had fun nonetheless, and I snapped a few photos perfect for this day’s inspiration word.
Day 77: #light. Well, I mulled over this one for a long time today. Sadly, I did not have the opportunity to be near any natural light throughout the day. The joys of an office with no windows.. and I am such a strong lover of the sunlight! But today I had to be creative. I always was intrigued as a kid when you put your fingers or mouth over a flashlight and it glows and you can “see through” your skin. That’s a little bit of this one. I help by hand up to my desk lamp, trying to get a cool lighting effect through my fingers. I like how it came out, looks like a meteor!
Day 78: #in_the_house. One of those days I’m only in the house when I wake up and go to bed. So you get to see a quick glimpse of my downstairs hallways. Pretty colors at least.
Day 79: #fresh. This is one of my favorites so far! I’m not sure what it is, but the tone and tree makes me smile every time I look at it. We got an unusual dusting of snow this morning. And it was so light and delicate on the trees and plants. Very fresh indeed.
Day 80: #weather. So I totally lurked around the NBC12 weather set a few times this afternoon trying to come up with something good. I couldn’t not use my own personal weather team! I ended up discussing it with Kevin here, and we decided he could be my model for the day. I don’t have a lot of these with people. And it gives a different look at how I see weather every day. Love looking at all those crazy charts and diagrams!
Day 81: #on_the_wall. I have forever had a love of rust, chipping paint, vines, anything of interesting texture and color on old walls or abandoned buildings. I feel there is so much beauty in that. I walked around the exterior of our studio today looking for something that would speak to me. This is the front of a very old metal shed that may not have been opened in at least 20 years. It’s a but creepy, but don’t you love those colors?!
Day 82: #musical. There are a LOT of guitars around my house. Most belonging to Ben, one to me, and about 3 that I’ve bought for him. I had a hard time deciding which image to use of them. But how the colors went nicely with the rusty shed photo made me choose this one. If you scroll down you can see my second option, that I still love!
And here is the other version I had for #musical. It’s like an ad for every guitar manufacturer 🙂
If you would like to follow along, I’m posting these daily on facebook, twitter, instagram, and 365Project. And of course here each week!
Thank you for reading 🙂
