“Scenes from Quarantine” is what I am calling a few days of documentary photography that I took of my 2 year old son in April of 2020, one month after the stay at home order had been put into place. We were happy to be home together, but he was definitely missing social interaction and his daily routine. Our new routine was sleeping in, making breakfast together, then trying to keep ourselves somewhat occupied and entertained while my husband was locked away upstairs, now working from home.
Our yard has been our saving grace. I’m so thankful that we have space for him to run and play. We caved and bought a swing set and sandbox, which has helped immensely!
And I am thankful for all of the time we’ve been able to spend outdoors in the sunshine. We both have amazing farmer’s tans going on and the vitamin D and fresh air has been helpful in easing the stress of all of this.
I decided to break it up into two parts, indoors and out. Here are a few shots from outside of our house on a regular afternoon. See the indoor photos here!
Lastly, a big thank you to everyone working around the clock for us to be able to stay safe at home. Especially the grocery workers, amazon warehouse employees and of course all of the first responders, nurses and doctors putting your lives at risk to save others. We feel for you and appreciate you more than you know.
